Good box, fair value $35. I like the full size piano loop. There are no sharp corners in the overall design, making it a really good trunk box for your car. One thing I don't like is the sliding hook latch. A bit awkward to use with one hand and leaves room for the lid to rattle. I would have preferred a regular latch that would lock the lid tight even if there wasn't room for a padlock. The sheet metal is .033" thick, so under the paint it's probably 22 gauge. I don't know if Stanley gives a recommended weight capacity, but I'll probably try to keep it under 25 pounds. If you think steel is stronger than a similarly priced plastic tool box, then think again. A $60 Dewalt hardbox twice the size or larger seems a lot stronger to me. When minimal volume is important, thin steel walls are a good choice compared to plastic. Another good use for this box is to store jars and tubes of solvents, lubricants, glues, epoxies, etc. some of which will ruin the plastic box.
