Love The Cast Iron Life

What can I say, I love my cast iron skillet! This thing gives the meat a nice charred flavor and is very easy to peel. Last night I even baked a pizza with toppings with my wife. If you're unfamiliar with cast iron chains, let me tell you that you're missing out on a lot. This thing cooks better than a Teflon pan, is easier to clean, and doesn't release harmful chemicals into the food. Another difference from a Teflon pan is that it takes longer to heat up, but when hot, it distributes and retains heat better. Here's how I keep my cast iron skillet 100% clean: After cooking, I forget about the skillet and let it cool. As soon as I remember it's dirty, I run it under hot water and rinse off the food residue with The Ringer (another great product on Amazon is the Stainless Steel Mesh Cleaner). This takes about 15-30 seconds, remember it doesn't have to be perfect (the best part), you just need to remove the bits of food. After that, I dry it with a paper towel, pour (or spray) some oil on the pan. and wipe it all down with the same paper towel. Finally, I heat it on the stove (medium heat) until it smokes and then remove it from the heat. This will season and dry the pan at the same time. Thanks to spices, the pan does not burn or rust. That's all! In general, it takes about 2 minutes of your attention to clean the pan after heavy use. When you do this, your pan will last a lifetime, if not years, while you consistently create the most delicious dishes.
