Review on 🔧 Gates PowerGrip Premium Timing Belt Component Kit TCK284 by James Baker

This belt is exactly what I needed for my 99 Elantra (Beta engine). The kit includes high quality idler and idler pulleys. As well as the Gates belt. Gates made the original belt, so I can say with certainty that it's either the same as the original product or just as good. I've had the kit on the car for about 500 miles, no problem now. I will recheck the tension every 10,000 miles to make sure the belt is still in good condition and that it is still properly tensioned as it is a static tensioner which means it does not compensate for belt stretch. If you have a Hyundai with a Beta engine, you need a timing belt. This is a kit. Take it! Don't neglect the timing belt. Some people are lucky and never change them until the car is dead. But mostly on these Beta engines the timing belts break after about 100,000. I was one of the lucky ones. Got 130k from oe. Shouldn't have gone that far. do yourself a favor Buy this kit, install it yourself with a new water pump and save a lot of money. you will thank me later
