Review on ๐Ÿš— Sunpro Actron CP7853 Remote Starter Switch - Ideal for 6V & 12V Automotive Starting Systems, Black by Arnold Carrigan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This could be a good tool.

.'. It's about to fail. Wire #18. Vehicle wiring specs state that the maximum wire current is 5 amps over 7 feet of wire. With the listed length of this switch, the cord length is 11 feet. A current of 8-10A is typical for a starter solenoid. The plastic covers around the terminals are made of extremely poor material. They are so stiff that it's difficult to widen the clamps enough to fit all the starting posts I've seen. Clamping jaws are poorly adjusted. The clips are of poor quality. In cold weather, using it will be much more difficult than it should be. When I tried it was 40ยบF. The handle is made of inferior low-temperature material. I'd be surprised if someone using a remote switch for auto use didn't melt a corded tool somewhere down the line. It just happens. The materials used for car tools must be better than those that make up this tool. This is an inexpensive switch. That doesn't mean it should be cheap, but it is. I would happily pay double the money to get a decent switch and I returned this switch to do so. I had good SunPro tools. These are nunn'a. Asked elsewhere, but note that this switch doesn't "click". He just sort of coughs to "on" (indicated by an ohmmeter).

Pros
  • Works with 6V and 12V systems; Includes detailed wiring instructions with illustrations to ensure safe and correct wiring (Incorrect wiring may cause the switch to exceed its rating, resulting in serious damage)
Cons
  • Frequency
