So far, so good. I chose the remanufacturing unit because hopefully it will retain the superior OEM mechanical parts. Normally the engine gives up slowly, like on my old machine. Instead of crimping the connector, I removed the silicone adhesive from the solder pin area on both the old and new units and simply moved the entire connector harness from the old to the new (easy soldering, just pay attention to wire colors and placement). I then melted the goo in the old spoon with a propane torch and it flowed neatly into the end area and solidified very nicely, forming a perfect seal. Be sure to test the window before you put all the trim back on! There are millions of videos online on how to replace window regulators when you get stuck. Ace and auto parts stores have plastic trim clips that are particularly easy to break. when the car is old.
