They are good for regular use
These potholders are good for quick use. I use cast iron and they get very hot if you hold the handle for too long. We make cornbread a lot and our method is to hold the pan and place a plate on top of the bread and then flip it over to turn the cornbread upside down so it takes a while to get it right so will heated the oven mitts for it. They work great under normal use, but if you hold the cast iron handle at 425 degrees for a very long time, they do get a bit warm.
