Review on Schwinn Bicycle Water Bottle Colors by Johnny Pigao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great kit for the price

I bought a 23 oz Schwinn Cage Bottle for my son's 24 inch Schwinn Mountain Bike (MTB). He had recently started cycling and needed a way to drink water during the longer trips we were planning to take. take together We have yet to walk with this combo as it's still cold in PA, but below are my findings, which have been split into two parts (bottle and cage) so far due to the combo: Pros: (bottle) Nice build; does not contain Bisphenol-A (no plastic taste); looks good (silver black theme); has a viewing platform (not pictured in the product description) that allows you to see how much liquid is left in the bottle; Black " swirls are silicone and provide extra grip; Bottle is advertised as dishwasher safe; Bottle filled with water, sealed, making sure spout was closed and squeezing bottle very hard - no liquid came out; Spout snaps when pressed down to stop water flow. The nozzle cover is a good addition. The body is made of thinner plastic, making it easy to press the Eeze and get water with one hand.(Cage) Aluminum, will not rust ; has a nice finish that complements my son's bottle and black and green MTB (mounted on the down tube as it would be too big for his seat tube); stiff enough to hold the bottle but flexible enough to grip the To adjust the bottle; The cage was assembled (inside the bottle) with a good set of solder (screws) with a hex head (longer than the ones that came pre-installed on my son's MTB), wing nuts and mounting (Supplied with brackets (if any do not have solder holes are already provided for attaching the cage). My son's MTB had soldered holes; So I can't say how well the exposure system works. However, I think that some sort of rubber washer between the mounts and your bike's tube will help this system (for a number of reasons) if you need to use it. While no such rubber was included, it was still nice that Schwinn (or Polar? - see the photo of the label on the bottle) provided mounts and hardware. before washing) smelled of plastic, which initially alarmed me (although it turned out to be uncritical); пылезащитная крышка сопла кажется несколько хлипкой, как будто она со временем сломается (особенно та часть, которая соединяет "кольцо", охватывающее горлышко бутылки, с самой крышкой, а также любая из четырех "защелок", которые фиксируют крышку над соплом, чтобы удерживать его on site). As a professional, I worry about the body becoming thinner, especially when it becomes brittle with age. I'm also concerned that the silicone grips might peel off with age and continued use. The time will show; However, to reduce wear on the handles, I need to work with my son to ensure he inserts the bottle into the cage in such a way that the handles are not pointing towards the "edge" of the cage holding the bottle in place holds. General comments: I love it I noticed that the bottle smelled like plastic which bothered me; However, I did rinse the nozzle out with a mixture of baking soda and water and rinsed well. I then added a very small drop of dish soap/water to the bottle, washed out, rinsed several times and then washed with a solution of 1/4 lemon juice to 3/4 water and rinsed thoroughly. Problem solved. The bottle didn't smell like plastic or leave a plastic taste in the water. Although the instructions say the bottle is dishwasher safe, I don't put plastic in the dishwasher. Plastics are hand washed and air dried (no lid etc. ;)). Aside from the whole concept of breaking down plastic, I'm concerned that the silicone grips might detach from the bottle when put in the dishwasher, they end up having to be attached to the bottle. Heat and glue generally don't work well together. The bottle cap has a lip that seals the bottle neck. The lip is made of the same plastic as the cap. It is not silicone, has no gasket and uses only compression to create a seal. Again, there was no leak when tested; but keep that in mind. The body of the bottle isn't insulated (however, this wasn't advertised and I wouldn't expect it at this price point); As such, liquids are unlikely to stay as cold as vacuum flasks, and more likely to sweat due to the thinner body (good thing there are handles on the body). Please note I have not used this on a trip yet. It will be interesting to see how good it tastes (I don't expect much of it in terms of temperature compared to vacuum flasks) when the bottle (ie plastic) is heated on hot days and over long distances. Purchase recommendation: Do I recommend buying this combination? If you're looking for a cheap bottle (which most commuters and light-weight cyclists need anyway), you can do short rides with ice cubes and chilled liquid, or slightly longer rides (half fill with water, freeze, and then a ride day, fueling up to the end of the ride ), just as cheap, but discreet, an additional cell, ding, ting, ding. At this price you have found a winner. If you're looking for a vacuum flask for really long trips, keep buying. In case you are wondering, I paid the Revain advertised price for this product. I only write reviews for items that I personally use and test. Please note that I did my best in writing this review and I always welcome both constructive feedback (to make my reviews better) and any questions about this review (to make it better and help where I am). . I will attempt to reach out to both within a reasonable time from the date of posting the review, if time permits. I am a family person; So my time is not always mine. Thank you for understanding.
