This is amazing. undoubtedly the best filter material. I was originally torn between 100 microns and 50 microns. I chose 100. and I'm so happy! My tank is CRYSTAL CLEAN! Just look at the side view from my photos. I love that it's just one giant piece of fabric. I just made a template and cut it out. It will last for many, many moons. I use it in the Fluval V specification. Initially I wanted to use the original filter media from this company. The material to use with this filter will give the best result. i can still buy it but really, I'll probably just use a little bit of fiberfill. I originally used a cotton pad and it worked fine. It didn't work that way. I expect to have to change that every week, maybe two weeks. It's only been three days and it's already changing color. I probably won't try to flush and reuse. I want to stay as close to this crystal clear water as possible. super impressed. I think my pump flow has decreased a bit as a result. I'll most likely be adding a pump to my V-Spec, but haven't done so yet because I have a rooster. I'm also considering getting 50 microns. Just take a look. now I am completely satisfied with it. It is definitely more expensive than a polyfill. but the result is amazing. and this product will last a long time. so glad i bought it. I mean, I honestly can't believe how clear my water is. This is the water quality I longed for. I used to think that I just wouldn't be able to achieve perfectly clean water like many people do. but now I am a fish farmer. Update: So I get about 1 week with these pads. but without additional mechanical filtering in front of this seal. I call this filter felt. which I think is another term for it. I use it in Fluval Spec V. It works fine in Fluval Spec. Just cut it to size and place it in a rectangular filter block on top of a sponge. I cut it 1/2 inch longer and it works fine. It fits snugly so no water bypasses the felt filter. I was looking forward to having to replace the felt filter mat today or tomorrow. When I got home today I noticed that the enclosed area that houses the Spec V pump was completely destroyed. Approximately 4-5 inches from the gauge portion of the waterline of the tanks. To me, that's a sign it needs to be replaced. Insert a new piece of filter felt and the water level will rise immediately. So yes, the longer these pads stay in the filter and accumulate more debris, the harder it is on your water flow. I increased the pump flow rate to maximum full power. This used to be a problem because I have a Betta. However, with a felt filter and a high-performance pump, that doesn't bother my cockatiel. My aquarium remains crystal clear. everyone who comes to me in the comments and says they have never seen a home aquarium as clean as mine. This felt filter really makes me feel like a professional fish farmer. for me it was the missing link in my filter. Please, if you don't agree with this product, just buy it and see for yourself. You will be amazed. I am not affiliated with this company. I never spoke to them. This review is 100% my experience with this product. I really believe in this product.
