Retractable. I had to cut off part of the cigarette lighter plug and put in a real one. Well in everything now that I hook it up and I have a lot of machines. Although it shouldn't. This is the first item I've bought that doesn't fit all of my cars. None will fit. It fits onto the Y-Adaptor ALMOST one-by-two, but still pops out at the slightest bump or vibration. Everything is fine now but I had to use a spare fork and I have a short fork. If I had known this I could have made this thing myself a week ago, saved money and not waited for it to arrive. I don't have enough plugs so thought I'd order something that would work right out of the box. The cable seems fine. The fork sucks, even if it did fit I wouldn't think it would last long.
