I'm confused by the conflicting reviews on this page as to whether or not this modem will work on Verizon's network. I'm glad I ignored the reviews saying it didn't work on Verizon. I decided to try the modem myself and I can assure you that it can definitely work on Verizon's network. Here are the steps I took. 1) First, I wanted to confirm which 4G LTE band on Verizon's network I'm connecting to in my area. I recommend this step as I assume different areas connect to different Verizon bands. On an iPhone, here's how to check which band you're connected to: To enter field test mode, dial: *3001#12345#*Select LTE connected to I've confirmed I'm connected to Verizon 4G Set LTE Band #4 This device supports the following bands: Bands 2, 4, 5 and 12. Verizon works on bands 2, 4, 13. So if you connect to Verizon on band 13, this device is probably not for She. If you connect to 2 or 4 it should be fine. 2) I went to my local Verizon store. I told them I was going to buy a tablet soon (I didn't specify which one) and asked them to provide me with a new SIM card ACTIVATED in my account. You use data from your existing plan and pay $10 per month for line access for a tablet. Ask for MICRO Sim (3FF) for this device or you can use NANO Sim (4FF) with MICRO Sim adapter (a few dollars maximum). 3) Insert the activated SIM card into the Netgear 4G modem and switch it on. It takes a minute or two for the power indicator to change from amber to green. When all bars turn green, you know your device is connected to Verizon. Easy easy. I connected a 4G modem to my router's WAN port and now I can connect to my router via WiFi to access the network. Internet at 4G speed!
