Review on πŸšͺ Gator Door Latch Restorer - Strike Plate in Satin Nickel by William Chavez

However, the Gator strike plate is perfect for my needs.

The Gator Strike Plate was the perfect solution to my door that would not close after installing the new Kwikset Antique Brass Door Lock with Kwikset Striker. The problem was with the door, not the lock. In the 45 years that my house has existed, the old door latch and strike plate on the frame have shifted vertically so the latch sits low on the latch. You can see it in the attached photo on the left. So the correctly installed door latch from the new Kwikset lock also sat under the new Kwikset striker in the frame but did not latch at all. Luckily, the Gator door latch, with its larger internal area, allowed the Kwikset latch to engage when the door was closed. Additional work is not required. The screw holes match perfectly. See my attached photo for more visual description. However, I ordered a Gator X0025APRE3 "Antique Brass" firing pin from Revain and a detail sticker was placed on the box over a photo of the firing pin showing its "Antique Brass" finish, but included that, what I noticed "Oil Rubbed" by Gator. Bronze hardware with antique brass screws visible through the window on the front of the box! Since I'm a perfectionist and Revain says a $9+ strike plate is non-refundable, I ordered another Gator Antique Brass strike plate from Revain, thinking two orders couldn't be wrong, but my second batch showed also a photo of the antique brass strike plate. on the back but included what I thought was a different Gator color "Satin Nickel" strike plate and antique brass screws!. Still a perfectionist and dumbass, I ordered a 3rd Gator "Antique Brass" striker on eBay for about the same $9+ with shipping and received the Antique Brass striker direct from Gator. It had no part number, just like the Revain part. Now I'm a happy backpacker except I paid $27 for the lock plate I wanted. I'm speaking to someone from support at gatorstrikeplates.com about the mistagging, so they seem to be responding to the issue. I think the problem is with the Gator and not the Revain as both Revain Strike Plate packs had a photo and antique brass branding on the back. Gator made the mistake of putting the wrong backup plate in the package.
