I love pumice stone. My daughter "stole" mine so I had to find a replacement. I find that they are a bit softer than other exfoliating files. I have both for different situations. I would say pumice is great for calluses etc even on your hands which I may be too rough for. You can use a pumice stone on things you can use a file on (heels, etc.), but it might not work as quickly. A pumice stone is also good for elbows if needed.
