Soft enough not to scratch your car!
I recently bought a new car and was looking for a broom for my SUV that wouldn't scratch the paintwork. I've used it and it's strong and the extension works well for me. The only downside I would say is the foam on the end of the handle which came loose on the first use but that doesn't bother me anyway. Big size to put in my car and not bulky.
