Scan Tool Pro1. The block is well built. The keys feel comfortable and respond well. The plastic isn't flimsy and the block itself is a decent size. The screen is crystal clear and easy to read. The OBD2 cable is of really good quality. This is a thick cable that will stand the test of time.2. One feature I liked about this tool is that there was an indicator at the end of the OBD2 cable so you can see when you are plugging the cable into the port. Con's scan tool Con's1. The OBD2 reader may have a rubber bumper around the device. After all, it is kept in the garage and it is inevitable that it will be knocked a little from time to time. I looked at other devices in this price range and most have rubber bumpers.2. The interface is pretty easy to navigate, but it does require some work. It's not as intuitive as other OBD2 readers in this price range. I just didn't like the process of reading information. There was a lot of scrolling for little information.3. They have an app that you can install on your mobile device if you want, but it costs money. I think this app will expand the information that the device provides. Which brings me to the next point. This company offers a "trial access" to the database for searching codes, which means you have to pay for a subscription. Subscribing to all that is now is becoming obsolete very quickly. Don't forget that other devices in this price range and even below come with free lifetime access.4. After four attempts to update the firmware, I finally gave up after it kept dropping 32%. Just so you know, the process is simple. You install the Innova software on your computer and then plug in the device, the software will automatically detect the device and display a message stating that a software update is available and asking if you want to update it. At this point click next and the software update process will begin and then it will fail at 32% every time in my experience. This is the final nail in the coffin for me, but you need to analyze my customer experience to fully understand why, and it might be the deciding factor for you too. Customer Service I chose this product based on a recommendation. However, after a little due diligence with customer service, I'm not interested and here's why. I have two cars, one mid 2000, one late model. I wanted to make sure I was buying a product that would work with both vehicles so I called Innova after browsing their website. I just wanted to make sure I have accurate and up to date information as I know that sometimes websites are not always up to date as inside information. The problem is that I have received conflicting information about the same product for the same vehicles I asked about. . Without going into too much detail. I called this company 4 times in a couple of weeks and got 4 different answers to the same questions. What is even worse is that one Innova employee actually called me a liar when I explained that a former Innova employee had told me otherwise. I was just trying to make sure I was getting the right information because I'm spending my hard earned money and have every right to ask questions. If a Customer Service Representative (CSR) doesn't understand this basic concept, then working in this direction may not be the best job for them. I mean seriously, should it be that difficult for a company to train its employees to provide consistent information. This may have been a one-time issue for this company, but this is not my typical experience with anyone or any company. Conclusion Despite my experience with customer support, I had really high hopes for this tool. However, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The nail in the coffin is that since the product won't install the update (after several attempts) and due to the bad customer experience I've had, I just don't want to call them and ask for help as to why the update won't install. I don't need no trouble when I'm spending my hard earned money. There are many other companies that offer consistent, exceptional service for a lot less money.
