Review on πŸ“± Samsung Galaxy A52 5G 128GB Black, Water Resistant Unlocked Android Cell Phone with 64MP Camera - US Version by Muhamed Hogan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Similar to Pixel 4a 5G. Both have advantages/disadvantages. Fast 5G on T-Mobile.

Thought to deduct a star because it said to reboot because the micro SD card was removed when it wasn't. Even if he was just sitting on the table, he would have said it. Most forums say it happened after the April update. My micro SD card is fine and if the error occurs check my photos, they are there. I'm using a 3 year old Samsung EVO Micro SD 256GB card from my old phone. There will likely be an upgrade to 512GB soon as Google has restricted photo uploading. I still use Revain Prime to upload photos as they are still unlimited if you have a Prime account/subscription. Therefore, my photos are stored on the SD card and in Revain Photos. However, Revain limits you to videos. Update: I put in a 512GB Kingston card and the error hasn't happened since. I put the 256GB EVO back into my old phone and there were no errors. Maybe the card should fit perfectly in the compartment? For 5G T-Mobile I have 275Mbps, 100Mbps in my house. When I'm not at home I get 347 Mbps incoming and 137 Mbps using the speedtest.net app in Los Angeles. You can disable 5G if you wish. It's in the settings. If you use Wi-Fi, 5G will be disabled. Update: I now have 776 Mbps and 82 Mbps at home. T-Mobile called the next week, offering 5G home internet for $50 a month. The battery life is really good compared to my old phone which had a SnapDragon 845. I started setup with the Windows 10 Your Phone app. This way you can manage notifications, messages, photos and calls from Windwos 10 as long as the PC and phone are on the same local network (the phone must be connected to Wi-Fi, not cellular data). It's a great way to copy and paste text messages and copy photos from your phone to your computer. Then I noticed that I could screen mirror (interact with my phone from my computer) and use my phone's apps on Windows 10. Some apps, like some games, don't work, but I would say 90% of them do. I tried to do the same with my wife's Pixel 4a but it didn't work. I found out that this only applies to most Samsung phones and is called Windows Link. You can screen mirror other Android/iOS phones with third-party software, but this built-in feature is very fast, smooth, and high-resolution. This phone is very similar to the Pixel 4a 5G. The Pixel 4a 5G has a very slight advantage when shooting, but it's negligible. This A52 5G has better macro shots. The Pixel 4a 5G has a much brighter screen if you use the phone a lot in direct sunlight. I found the screen very good, but I don't get much sunlight. I switched from a 1440p screen to a 1080p screen and it's noticeable but I'm used to it. App and game speed is very similar to my Snapdragon 845 phone but with longer battery life. If you don't play a lot of 3D games, the processor is more than enough. Stereo speakers sound clearer. It's not going to replace my landline phone or my work phone's speakerphone just because they have big speakers, but that's a good thing. Back to the camera, it's very good. Similar to the Pixel 4a 5G, but Samsung has its own camera app and it's better. There are fun Snapchat and AR (Augmented Reality) filters that you can use without using the Snapchat app. Similar to using the Snap Camera app in Windows 10. Being able to switch from closeup to normal to widescreen is very easy and convenient. I haven't shot a video yet, but the examples on YouTube show that the stabilization on the Pixel 4a is much better. So if you like recording 4K videos while walking, you need something else. There's digital stabilization, but you can only do it in 1080p. As a reminder, Google still offers unlimited photo uploads to Pixel owners. The Samsung user interface takes some getting used to. I use Android One or just Android 11. It has a few handy little things that make it "smarter". There are a lot of little things, so you have to look at Samsung's UI test. I thought the punch hole selfie camera would bother me but my mind ignores it since it's on the side and small. I only notice this when watching a video full screen, but I often focus on the center of the screen anyway. If you want unlimited photo/video storage, a brighter screen and slightly better camera performance, go for the Pixel 4a 5G. It's the same price. If you like Windows Feature Link, Better Daytime Photos, Micro SDXC Media Storage, then get Samsung. I think the Samsung A52 5G will offer slightly better battery life. The box only comes with a 15-watt charger, a 4-foot USB-AC cable, a SIM eject tool, and a couple of small manuals. I think it comes with Samsung's 2 year warranty. Both phones have the same IP water resistance. Something not usually found in mid-range phones. I can't say much about the fingerprint reader. I don't have many ridges on my fingers, so no sensor can accurately read my fingerprints. It affects heavy workers and Asians who do not have deep fingerprints. No matter how accurate it is, it won't work if your combs aren't deep enough. Even expensive people have a hard time at work.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
