When I first bought this external DVD player and burner, I originally wanted to install software on my newly built computer. I was planning to use it later to rip all my DVDs after installing the ripping software. It took me many months to organize everything, surviving COVID was not easy and I just installed WinX DVD Ripper Platinum. I tried to copy a new DVD movie to my computer but the new software says the DVD is corrupt. I look at the DVD and there is no damage and reinstall it into the drive, I get OK and start following the instructions. During the rip parsing step, the process hangs and won't continue. The software says it's 100% done but continues to run its analysis program. I can hear the drive stopping and starting all the time and the computer keeps pinging with the sound of getting new hardware. I removed the DVD and put another new DVD in the drive and got the same message that the DVD is corrupt. Now every DVD I try to rip is obviously corrupt, and since the drive itself keeps stopping and starting along with the computer thinking the hardware is updating every 30 seconds or so, I can only assume that the DVD drive is damaged. I have only used the drive once in 8 months of ownership. He didn't do a perfect job this time either, but he did the job. Now the drive doesn't work at all despite the second attempt to use it. I checked my 1 year warranty with Revain and Revain seem to think I only had a 6 month warranty as they made it impossible for me to get support. So I'm having problems with the drive and Revain.
