Review on 🍝 Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set with Stainless Steel Material by Robbie Guinn

Surface of the insert is contaminated Pasta water

If this were a beauty pageant, this item would easily win due to its sparkling cleanliness. But like dishes - garbage! Washed the pot and liners upon opening the box. The first use resulted in the dark material floating in the water during the making of the noodles. Not knowing where they came from, he dumped the noodles, washed the pot, and put it back in. Then they alone prepared the water to see what would happen, and the same result happened: a dark material floated in the water. Further investigation revealed that the material was either bits of mission material or broken pieces of mission fairing. I suspect the latter as there is no sign of burring or chipping from the punches in the mortise. Although this item is imported from China I have a feeling that a brand like Cuisinart offers the highest quality but apparently that is not the case. I suspect they think their brand name alone will generate enough sales. Well, even with a lifetime guarantee, I'm not going to spend my entire life trying to get a good insert that won't contaminate my pasta. I am returning this item for a full refund and will find another brand. If I could give less than one star I would. Cuisinart is no longer my go-to choice for anything cooking or my kitchen related.

Pros
  • Stainless steel for professional results: cooking surface made of stainless steel does not discolour, does not react with food or change the taste. Ideal for classic cooking methods such as simmering, simmering and reducing liquids.
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance
