I think they are great and worth the money to protect my keys. The leather part is very easy to place on the keys. I also opted for a braided key ring which was a little tricky to put on. There's a portion of the medal's horseshoe that's held in place by a latch with a small metal spiral ring that you have to unclip, just like most keychains, except for the much smaller size, which I found a bit difficult to maneuver around given my larger size. Fingers, but I finally got everything assembled and attached to my keychain the way I want it. I can absolutely recommend them and would buy them again at any time. I ended up buying one in red and one in gold and they both look very pretty. FYI, I don't think the leather slit in the back is an issue. The edges are slightly raised. Not enough to be a nuisance or justify my desire to slap any strap on the back. This is a great buy if, like me, you've learned from previous key fob problems (I'm talking to you about the Chevy with your inferior, crumbling rubberized plastic that literally separates your key fob buttons from the main fob body). and want - something protective yet stylish to keep your keychain looking and working like new. One last note: I had no problems with the sensor at all. Keychains work the same as they do without cases. I even got compliments from my dealer on how good my keys look lol.
