The only thing I would change about this great little tent is the pole material. This is a smooth wooden pole. If it was made of soft rope it would be perfect. My little bird loves soft snuggles and avoids his perches and wooden and plastic toys. However, he loves bells, which was another reason I decided to buy him. Our little bird is very shy so I was nervous that he would be scared of her. On the first day he tentatively rang the bell a few times and then backed away. On the second day he attacked her, biting and poking. I think he wanted to make sure it was safe and establish dominance. On the morning of the third day, when I went to remove the blanket from his cage, I found him curled up in the tent. He's always sitting facing the closed side and his tail sticking out of the open side, so we're looking at him from below. I hold him next to his favorite rope toy. Sometimes he'll sit on a rope and stick his head in the tent, hence the suggestion of using a rope pole. Maybe I can figure out how to pad the perch with some soft material.
