Review on πŸš™ Jeep Fuel Rail and Injector Cover Kit (1997-2004, 4.0L Engine) by Design Engineering 010378 by Ans Brownlee

If I had known then what I know now, I probably wouldn't have ordered this set.

Got this for my new 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited Sport 4.0L. I needed to replace my injectors and fuel rail so I figured I'd go with that and these engines are notorious for allowing heat to enter the fuel rail and cause problems. After opening the box, this thermal insulation set seems to be worth the money. . But that's where I stop saying good things about him. As mentioned in countless other reviews, the fuel rail insulating sheet needs to be cut to fit the fuel rail fuel pressure regulator bracket. After so many people complaining about the same thing, why hasn't this company fixed the problem? 2. The fuel rail insulation sheet is very difficult to install. None of the holes in the shell line up with the fuel rail mounting tabs, so you'll have to tear off some material here and there to fit it.3. The injector shrouds were so difficult to install that I left them in the box and just pulled the rail shroud and heat shield over the intake manifold. I tried doing this with the injectors and fuel rail installed, as wrapping the injectors before installation means you can't see if they are installed evenly and completely. It was extremely frustrating having to work in such a tight space around wiring harnesses and injector connectors. You have to remove the plastic injector harness holder to place the heat shield on the valve cover studs and chances are you'll break that plastic because it's old and brittle. That's more the Jeep's fault than the heat shield, but it's still worth noting.

Pros
  • Hands free control
Cons
  • All right
