Description of 🚙 Jeep Fuel Rail and Injector Cover Kit (1997-2004, 4.0L Engine) by Design Engineering 010378

Designed for 1997-2004 Jeep models with inline 6 motor. Reduces fuel rail and injector heat sink, reduces the chance of vapor lock, and keeps fuel cool. Easy to install kit includes one manifold heat shield, one fuel rail heat cover, size fuel injector covers, and 12 fuel injector O-rings. The heat shield is a glass fiber-backed heat barrier with thick aluminum skin. The fuel rail and injector covers are designed to reflect engine heat; the hook and loop design makes for easy installation.

Keeps heat away from injectors

Fits my 99 xj perfectly, I had an extra round piece on the fuel rail that I had to cut and trim. Was what I thought was heat exhaustion, driving the jeep for a while in the summer, turning and then trying to start right after and not keep running or starting occasionally. For a while he missed firing when I gave him gas. After installation everything seemed to work, then it started again. So replaced the fuel pump and then everything worked. So this kit works by keeping the heat away from the…

Does not prevent overheating.

2001 Cherokee, the complete opposite of the performance I was looking for. I've heard from others about heat absorption issues, I haven't had this experience with my Cherokee or any other jeep I've worked tuning jeeps on in the last 8 years. Thought a little insurance wouldn't hurt, $70 to protect the fuel from overheating - let's do it! So I bought this kit last spring, installed it at the end of summer, reheated it 4 times since, and in traffic it works like crap. It turns out that the same…

It serves its purpose and fits great

It's definitely a well put together product, it fits REALLY well, almost too well and it works. I had a bit of a misfire problem. in my XJ when I turned it off while warm and while driving and restarted it without cooling down. This product seems to have helped with this package. It didn't completely solve this problem, but I'm sure there are other aspects to this problem, it's a jeep after all. The fit of the pieces is really good, they definitely got their measurements right. However, the…

Worked on my 97 4.0!

Had a copy of the vapor barrier. It was 90+ wet and I left my 97 XJ waiting at the curb for about 30 minutes for a pickup. Well, it started panting and idling rougher than an angry bull, and then it stopped. I had to open the hood and let it sit for an hour before starting it again. su I installed this bad boy which is hard to want at all. Special tool required, *** YOU NEED A 5/16 FUEL LINE TOOL. ***These cost less than $10 and are readily available. Then all the screws on my '97 were 10mm. So

Needs some polishing, but overall it's great.

Installed on a 1999 XJ. The heat shield that sits on top of the manifold is better than the factory one. The fuel rail wrap is tight and well made, with one exception - it doesn't account for the fuel pressure regulator (1.75" washer about halfway down the rail) so you'll have to cut the mark in the braid with a sharp blade. . I also took the opportunity to remove the label. Finally, the nozzle shrouds are cut into rectangles, which does not result in a perfect fit around the individual…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Got this for my new 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited Sport 4.0L. I needed to replace my injectors and fuel rail so I figured I'd go with that and these engines are notorious for allowing heat to enter the fuel rail and cause problems. After opening the box, this thermal insulation set seems to be worth the money. . But that's where I stop saying good things about him. As mentioned in countless other reviews, the fuel rail insulating sheet needs to be cut to fit the fuel rail fuel pressure regulator…

(UPDATED) I admit I was wrong

Well folks it finally happened. We finally had our first day in Memphis, TN that was hot enough to call for air conditioning and check out my new fuel rail/injector insulation. Installation went well, I installed it a while ago when it was still cold outside. The supplied injector O-rings fit perfectly. The injector sleeves fit perfectly. I did not use the distributor plate as my factory plate (they are identical) is still intact. The fuel rail fits like a glove once you figure out where to cut
