Review on πŸ”΄ AIMILAR Red LED Display Car Motorcycle Voltmeter - 12V Digital Voltage Meter Gauge by Eric Aulia

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Surprisingly accurate for this price. Maximum error 0.1 VDC. The fastening system is somewhat lacking.

At a great price this is a pretty good "quick and dirty" DC voltmeter. I compared it to my Agilent 5-1/2 digit benchtop multimeter and found that it only drifts by about 0.1 VDC. In particular, the 0.1 VDC error occurred at the lower end of the spectrum (e.g. 10, 11 and 12 V). For a 12V battery system, 0.1VDC is clearly important information to determine battery health. Another important factor to consider is the fact that very thin (probably 20 AWG or even 22 AWG) conductors are used. If the meter is any material distance from a voltage source (e.g. a battery) and you are using such small conductors throughout, there is an additional voltage drop problem introduced into the equation. To counteract this source of error, use appropriately sized conductors from the source to the meter.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability.
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared.
