It's not worth the price!

In my opinion this DC reading is not worth what it is sold for. It stays on without a switch. I watch my battery drain slowly because the voltmeter was on. If you can find a way to turn off the reader, this is the best voltage reader. I gave it 2 stars because I don't think it's worth the price, it should sell for $5.99 or less. In addition, it does not turn off, so the battery may be destroyed in time. Also, the cable is not long enough to fit where you want to mount it, so you have to buy an…

Travel Trailer Necessity

A great addition to your road trailer to show dynamic battery voltage compared to the simple factory battery gauge monitor found on most trailers. We camp in the dry most of the time so I like to keep an eye on how the battery is performing throughout the day. In addition to the generator, I have a 100w portable solar panel to charge the battery during the day. With this little gem, I can be sure I'm getting the most out of the sun. With shore power or a running generator, you can ensure that…

At a great price this is a pretty good "quick and dirty" DC voltmeter. I compared it to my Agilent 5-1/2 digit benchtop multimeter and found that it only drifts by about 0.1 VDC. In particular, the 0.1 VDC error occurred at the lower end of the spectrum (e.g. 10, 11 and 12 V). For a 12V battery system, 0.1VDC is clearly important information to determine battery health. Another important factor to consider is the fact that very thin (probably 20 AWG or even 22 AWG) conductors are used. If the…

God meter, but high thrust.

This review is difficult to rate. I wanted something I could easily read from my window at home. It's mounted on a horizontal plastic roof that I installed for my new emergency generator set. I bought the white one and it is very legible. 2 wires, nothing complicated to connect. Cons: draws a lot. The General has a motorcycle battery. First I tried a 1.8w solar panel. Not good. Couldn't keep up. I already had a 5-watt panel. Still not enough. So I still haven't let 10 watts come. Now it's on…

I like this electricity meter

I really like this meter so far. My bike had electrical problems earlier in the summer and a low voltage flashing meter reading gave me timely warning to take action. I removed all the fuses except for the ignition circuit so I had enough battery power to drive the 60 miles home. During the installation of the meter I measured that the current drawn was about 0.030 amps. I connected the meter to the motorcycle's ignition so the battery doesn't drain when the engine is off. At 14 volts it is…

Works, but I still hate it.

This item works as described. It's slightly different when reading the correct voltage from an MMPT charge controller or voltmeter. He does what he says he will do. BUT I still hate him. I hate it because it's too bright and you can't dim it. But I hate it the most because it flashes when the voltage drops below 12V. I personally don't think there's a reason why it should blink. The 12 volt battery used will eventually drop below 12v. The main reason I hate these two features is that I use them

Does a good job for a voltmeter

For the money this little guy is worth, he does a very good job. Hello Motorcyclists, Here's another recent honest review of a motorcycle product that works pretty well. I was trying to find one of those little sensors that has a really large number of numbers and isn't too complicated. see during the day and also provides fairly accurate readings. This guy does his job. Sure, it can be a bit difficult to see during the day, but it gives you a clear idea of your strains. There have been…
