I needed a backup of the videos I record with my iPhone when I go on long trips. I came across this product which appeared to be good value. So I decided to give it a try. The YDisk application is quite suitable for my purposes. It also has a 'backup' feature which has allowed me to back up my phone contacts, although I think it might back up other things as well. I was able to copy photos and videos from my phone to a flash drive. about 80GB of files from my PC to a flash drive to see if there were any quality issues. The copy seemed to work fine. Note. I ran CHKDSK on this flash drive from the command line with the option "fix" - "chkdsk /F" to allow Windows to fix any problems that might arise. This seemed to fix some of the lost sectors. One thing that didn't work properly was recording videos directly from the YDISK app. I recorded a video by clicking the camera icon in the app but after stopping the recording the app said it would save it to disk but even after waiting a few minutes the recording wasn't saved. I just aborted the process by closing the app. In any case, I don't plan on recording directly to a flash drive in real life. I will record on the phone and then copy through the YDISK application.
