I walk along the path. I ordered a size up as recommended by the manufacturer if you want a looser fit (for layering). There is room underneath for a few layers. As other reviewers have pointed out, the sleeves aren't very tight so you can easily wear a long-sleeved base layer underneath. Tried it today at 40 degrees and wind. I only had a t-shirt underneath, and it was warm enough to walk in half-open. So I think base coat + t-shirt is fine until at least 20 years. Definitely cut the wind! The elastic bands on the sleeves were loose enough that I could easily pull them up to see my Garmin watch. The only minor complaint is that it's pretty rigid. But it might come off by itself if I wear and wash it more often. Washed cold, hung to dry - no shrinkage. A good inexpensive alternative to winter sports jackets. Update - I have now worn it under 32F with a base layer underneath and am still very happy. wind cuts well. I also wore it on a hike on a rainy day - definitely waterproof *water repellent*, not waterproof but even though I was pretty wet by the end of the hike I was still comfortable and warm.
