Can get expensive without much benefit

I had to try this filament after printing several spools of orange PLA Hatchbox with no problems as this color does not more available in Hatchbox. First, I'm not thrilled with the 750g spool - that's $36/kg, which is quite expensive (or a tax on the undeveloped math?). It's also annoying because I'm printing large parts, typically 150-200g, so I run the risk of either running out of filament near the end of the part, or wasting quite a bit of filament at the end of the spool, which adds to the cost at. than $40 per kg. After doing the initial temperature control tests, I found that the parts were still quite soft right after printing on the heated PEI bed. Adhesion is fairly good, as expected from PLA on PEI, so lifting the part before it's back to room temperature tends to warp easily. It's possible that the material will be less brittle after cooling than some other PLAs, and in some cases that might be fine, but I haven't been able to verify that yet. Then, in the middle of my first big print, I got a clogged nozzle for the first time in months (genuine E3D V6 hotend with Titan extruder). I don't necessarily blame the filament, it could have been some random dirt that got into the feeder, but I'm not sure.

Pros
  • 3D Printer Accessories: Bright and durable color films that make strong and durable models; have a dimensional accuracy of +/- 0.05mm with 750kg spool and 2.85mm length
Cons
  • I will add later
