Review on πŸ’‘ Tripp Lite TLP1208TELTV 12-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip, 8ft Cord, Right-Angle Plug, Tel/Modem/Coax Protection, RJ11, & $150,000 Insurance - Black by Noe Miceli

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very large surge protector with plenty of room, but read on below!

FIRST - YES, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONNECT DEVICES TO THIS NETWORK DEVICE. But there is a way to fix this. It is very difficult to connect something to this surge protector for the first time. But once that initial resistance collapses, future plugins are very easy! I strongly recommend (before using a surge protector) to plug your own 3 prong cable into each outlet until the plug's initial resistance is broken. I found it easier to break the resistance by wiggling the connector back and forth parallel to the long axis of the surge protector while pushing down. The connection is very tight and appears to be very reliable even AFTER this initial downtime. The built-in socket protection covers are very convenient and easy to use. They slide back and forth in any position with a nice click. These covers are so easy to use that even a child can operate them. Also included are 2 cords/wires: 1 phone cord and 1 cable TV/antenna cord. This should encourage you, if anything, to use the cable and phone surge suppression features of this device. The power cord has a right angle/flat option. It is quite long and easy to shape into the shape you want. The design looks good, but it doesn't look exactly like Tripp Lite's isobars. But then it's nicer again. My only complaint is that the 8 sockets are VERY close together along one edge. So close that it's difficult to place two USB/plug adapters next to each other, e.g. B. An iPhone charger/USB port next to an iPad charger/USB port. Anything larger than a standard three-wire cable can get a little tight. I suppose you could alternate the charger/plug alongside a typical 3 pin plug.

Pros
  • Safety first with high joule rating meets UL 1449 safety standards: built-in 12A circuit breaker protects all outlets and shuts off connected devices in the event of an overload; Diagnostic LEDs instantly confirm power, protection, and line faults; 2880 J - maximum protection for your equipment; Complies with current safety standards UL 1449 3rd Edition
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
