I was really hoping that everything would be as promised. They worked pretty well when I first set them up. But like many other reviews I've seen, the problems start as soon as you update to the new V2 firmware. Satellites are intermittent. Well, for a while, then it's impossible to keep in touch. This is when I'm sitting with my computer 8ft from the satellite in a straight line to the location and the main orbi is only 20ft the other way (in the next room, straight line to the location between two open doors). . You'd think that if the satellite goes down, my computer (I've tried several different ones) would at least switch to the main router 20 feet away in DLOS. But no, I have to go up the stairs (the router stands for the best coverage on a bookshelf) and completely reset the satellite and main router. That's about a day later. When I received an exciting email from Netgear about the great possibilities of mesh networking, it didn't go into detail. So I searched the entire Netgear website. No information. So I called customer service, waited an hour, found someone overseas who spoke almost no English, and after talking to myself and waiting for half an hour, he and his supervisors had no idea what I was talking about. Finally I gave up. If you're thinking about buying them, they're not ready for prime time at a hefty price tag. I would wait, really study the reviews, take a close look at the competitor's products if possible, talk to someone who has them and get them to work consistently over a long period of time before spending that much money on this wifi System.fi.
