After climbing the TriFlow, I decided to try something different. I researched this material and was pleasantly surprised to see a bike mechanic at a bike shop using this material. She took out her bottle and put it on a little - the lid is a bit hard, by the way; Unscrew the top half like a Sriracha bottle. I backed off the chain about ten turns and wiped it clean. This stuff works great; I wouldn't say my chain is quiet, but it's definitely very quiet. As others have said, it is a low viscosity oil and when I first applied it got some onto the rim (dangerous for the brakes!). Be careful. This oil also seems to wash away dirt better than any other oil; After application and wiping, the rag is often dirty even after degreasing. It's a great material, but I use it quite often. I also tried this in the cable case and it didn't seem to fix or worsen my squeaking problem. Update -- 3 months -- This stuff still blows my mind. I wipe my chain down with a dry rag to remove dirt, maybe every three rides or so, and my chain still looks brand new six months after buying the bike. That's great. On my other bike that I use TriFlow on, the chain blackened within a week despite rubbing. That's great! Smells good too! I would advise you, if you like, to use a small bottle as an applicator and then a large bottle to refill. (I don't understand why they give you a spray nozzle - who would use that?)
