Review on BACOENG 12VDC Solenoid with 110VAC Option: Boost Performance and Versatility by Sean Young

Used as valve on 63 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. When I was looking for a valve, I heard about the valve overheating if it was energized for too long. Another review states that installing a 100-watt, 5-ohm resistor built into the power cord solves the overheating problem. Did this and used it to tow my fifth bike from NoDuck to Puget Sound and back. No problem. UPDATE: Valve doesn't seem to like extreme cold. I put some petrol in my extra tank last winter and after opening it the valve wouldn't close until it got warmer. It gets down to -30 degrees here in North Dakota, so navigate accordingly. In extremely cold conditions, look for a different valve if necessary.
