Review on πŸš— Gates 90K-39092: Upgrade Your Vehicle with the Complete Serpentine Belt Drive Component Kit by Michael Lucas

Worked primarily in Serpentine

The belt in this kit did not fit my 2006 Honda Pilot EX (2WD). This is our fourth Honda with a J-Series V6 engine and this is the first time I've tried an aftermarket belt. Spanner went in fine. The belt in this set was about an inch too small to fit over the pulleys. No tensioner movement could compensate for the short belt length. I went to the dealer and got the correct belt and had no problems with the factory belt. My advice: buy a tensioner and get the belt from the dealer. I understand that there are many people who use this kit and will install everything without problems. This seems to me to be a quality control issue in the manufacture of straps. Maybe I should have just gone to the dealer and spent the extra money on a factory belt. I ended up paying forty dollars for the collar set plus $51 for the dealer's belt. For a laugh, I asked the parts salesman at the local dealership if he would be willing to lower their prices on the tensioner and belt. The parts salesman at the dealer agreed to get me a belt and tensioner for about $245 plus tax. Worth spending an extra 50-60 to reduce my frustration.
