Despite some clumsiness, I was able to get the device to work offline. I looked at the coins and it was very interesting. Ease of use and image quality were just what I needed. However when I tried to connect to my computer it was a bad experience. First I had to locate my old portable CD player to download the software. Second, the English instructions (which were minimal) had incredibly poor grammar (to the point that they were difficult to understand). Third, the software was outdated (2011) - it also used the Windows 3 file management structure (I'm old enough to remember that). Fourth, after about 2 hours of searching the internet and solving the problem on my own, I finally gave up. I have returned this product. If you just want to look at 'things', that's great. Besides, it's not worth your time.
