The Ancel app requires you to give it access to your photos and contact information; Data that has no functional use for the scanner. Unless you disable your privacy, the app will not connect to the code scanner. It's unforgivable. Since the app is required to access the most detailed vehicle and test information, and because the app is not a starter app for privacy reasons, the package as a whole is unusable. This is very unfortunate as the rest of the product appears to be functional. Regardless of the financial benefits they derive from accessing your personal information, they may not be worth the cost of alienating their customers. A very bad business decision by Ansel.
