I have this for my kayak. This is the easiest electronic device to use that I have bought in a long time. Menus and scrolling are easy to navigate, the display is easy to see (I'm old and have poor eyesight) and the screen is big enough to see. I installed it about 3 feet in front of me and had no issues with visual tone or performance changes, even in wind and currents. It is also waterproof if the battery compartment is lubricated. The screws on the battery compartment cover are captive so you don't lose them. Battery life seems good as I only used it for 1 day and used less than half of its life including the time spent on it when it showed up here.
