Sure, the plastic parts on this device are cheap, but it works well and is quiet. I can understand the negative reviews for the quality but for the price I'm impressed. It stays in place, but I wouldn't bother too much if you can avoid it. It delivers really good flow, even if 1585 gph is overpriced, and the jets are a nice bonus so you can direct the flow. The attachments must be pushed in all the way to stay in place. I've set the timer to run in 1 hour intervals and it seems to start and stop with no problems. I think you could probably even put this thing on a wave timer without major complications. which has a very good suction cup mount with magnet. This mount alone costs more than twice as much as this device, which is why a comparable model seems to cost 3-4 times as much and still has problems. At this price I wouldn't expect much reliability, but it does the job. .
