Poor volume, muffled sound, but generally decent quality
Even at maximum volume, this device has half the volume of my internal SoundBlaster. I really struggled to operate my Sennheiser 580 open-ear headphones and the sound sounded dead and lifeless. It worked well in terms of drivers and basic utilities, but overall it sounds dull and lifeless. Ports are poorly labeled, outputs aren't color-coded, and without a diagram it's hard to know where to connect what.
