Review on Plasticplace 12 16 Gallon Compostable Trash by Lisa Price

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for the planet, wants to extend shelf life

Like all compostable bags I've used, they have an expiration date. Check the label on the package for the manufacture and expiration dates. The box I received was manufactured in April 2020 and has an expiration date of 24 months. Since the box I received only has about 9 months until its expiry date, I will only be able to use half of it at most. As they cost more than regular bin liners I am disappointed that the box I received is expiring so soon. Either a longer shelf life or producing pouches in smaller batches would be of great help. These bags fit a 13-gallon trash can, but you'll have to tie a knot in one corner to get a secure fit or the bag keeps slipping off. They are designed for 12-16 gallon trash cans. Let's hope one day plant-based compostable bags become the norm. In the meantime I will try different brands until I find the best one for me. These bags are durable and ideal for commercial use or multiple households.

Pros
  • MEDIUM SIZE - 12-16 gallon - This medium sized bag holds about as much as a standard 13 gallon kitchen bag. It also offers an opaque color for visibility without a messy look.
Cons
  • Crumpled
