I really wish there was a heavier mat that would work well with the vacuum, but it doesn't. If you have a vacuum that allows you to turn off the suction, it will work better or you will need to mount it to really use the vacuum. The good thing is that it can be machine washed and dried. Comes out fine, but I'd rate it higher if it could handle the vacuum between trips to the washing machine. Also, it's a very soft, decent rug, not very "slip" but I'll definitely find many uses for it, even in a kid's room.
