Review on 🌡️ Enhanced Lyman Digital Lead Casting Thermometer by Fred Meeks

I bought a Lyman digital lead thermometer this week and tried to use it today. The thermometer reads the ambient temperature to within a few degrees, but when I put the thermocouple in a cauldron of molten lead, the thermometer only read 197 degrees Fahrenheit. After a bit of research on the internet, I see that some others are having similar issues with showing the wrong temperature. ***Update*** I have contacted Lyman and it looks like they will replace the thermometer. I will add another update when the new device arrives and I have tested it for function. ****** Update 2 The replacement unit is within 5 degrees of the dial thermometer I am using. Not sure which is more accurate, but both are close enough to throw bullets.
