I didn't know that this piece is so big and is the opposite of a decorative piece. But if you have a door that keeps knocking out doorstops with the windows open, or a similar situation, I have to say this works great. We live in northern Wisconsin and love to open all the windows on a good day. The problem is that when there is wind, even a light breeze, all of our doors slam shut. This kid is doing his job. Works in both positions, under the door and between the door and door frame. When we tried between the door and the jamb it worked amazingly but my husband felt like people would not see and try to close the door and break the jamb. We use under the door. Definitely recommended if you don't mind the look.
