Works without line pressure

I think if you look for things like that float valve you'll usually understand why you need it. You are obviously trying to control the water level for an application. There are many uses for a float valve. In my case, I wanted to control the water level in a non-pressurized water system. It was not my intention to connect it to a domestic pressurized water system, I intended to use it to control water coming out of a gravity fed tank. There is no way of knowing if the float valve will work in this application, but I can tell you that this valve works. I used this valve to build a bucket to control the water level in a containerized irrigation system. It is powered by a fully self-contained tank made from a Rubbermaid trash can. I don't grow ganja like some might think. I grow food in subarctic conditions and this is the main component of my family's subarctic container garden. The device will work with a 5 gallon bucket and possibly many other containers. I used a 1/2"FPT x 3/4"FHT adapter so I could connect it to a standard hose. I had no problem making the watertight seal and liked being able to set the water level where I needed it. The ability to adjust the valve turned out to be an important feature that I needed. I wanted a decent float valve and this particular one isn't the cheapest of them all. I didn't want the cheapest, I wanted the one that would work well for my application. This one worked for me and will likely work for similar applications. So I wanted to contribute my experience if it helps others.
