Both sides of the instrument cannot be measured accurately.
If you're looking for a good sensor, this one with a few minor drawbacks is for you. calibrated only for the inside of the lip, not the outside. So when you need it, you need to measure the thickness of the tool's stop edge (for lack of better terminology) and then add that to the number the gauge reads. I had 1.5mm so if you read with the shims installed and grab the back plate with the edge of the tool and it shows e.g. B. 4 mm shim life. For me it was 5.5 mm due to the edge thickness. (Measure with calipers to ensure accuracy)
