Review on Carefree 850001BLK Pioneer Awning End by Tim Hull

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for Canopies

I have a 1995 Carefree tarpaulin, the front arm was replaced with standard stock a few years ago so god knows what year it was from as 95 parts hard to find are, especially in an emergency. The front end cap (the one that locks or unlocks the awning) recently broke. I couldn't find an end cap for a 1995 model so I tried this one that says it's 1997 and newer. It fitted perfectly except for the small screw holes that didn't line up, but with the self tapping screws it fitted properly. You remove the old cap and spring - just put it on. The only problem I had was that I forgot to order the crank. I fixed it in a few days and it works like a charm. Folding takes about 15 seconds longer than sprung, but that's okay. I still need to do some fine tuning but I would highly recommend this to anyone with a broken or faulty end cap.
