Review on Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges, Pack of 6 - Gentle yet Powerful Cleaning by Jeff Salvino

Not what it used to be

Like everything else, the Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges succumbed to a desire to make things cheaper and charge more in return. Create a respectable brand name and then destroy it with cheap products that carry the old brand name but fall nowhere near the quality of the old respected brand name. I have been buying sponges for many years. Forget wear and tear. These things don't last long enough to wear out. The scouring layer detaches from the sponge after a few uses and must therefore be disposed of. These things were a little torn around the edges after a few weeks of washing dishes in the sink, so I opened a new one and put the used one under the sink to use there. Now they are so badly constructed that they don't even reach the stage with torn edges. They fall apart and should be disposed of with the general waste long before then. I've been buying them from Revain since 2014 and the price per sponge hasn't changed much over the years. But the quality has greatly decreased. It's the same as price increases. Let's hope there's another respectable non-scratch cleaning sponge manufacturer willing to step in and fill the void, but I doubt it. Too bad I couldn't attach a photo to this review. Unfortunately, I threw away the last piece of unwanted sponge before I thought of writing a review. However, I'll be back in a few days or so to edit and attach a picture of the last piece of Scotch Brite trash sponge I opened just yesterday. It has already started to separate so it won't be long.2020-10-17 EDITED Add image
