You need to add heat for dry brittle hair especially my 4c black hair that has already turned into a jungle and you need to know what you are doing , or you will screw it up. The beard straightener worked but it dries out the beard but again they are supposed to prep your hair with preventive heat damage so it might still work but if you do this do it for the length which means some of you would do this every day, if that was the case your beard would be gone in a month. Technically, you should be warming your head or beard once a month. I'm not writing anything bad about the product it's just something I learned the same day I received my products so I returned mine. There are ways to make your beard look longer without heat. It just needs to be researched. You can ignore my review if you don't care.
