I installed it outside next to the hot tub for convenience and it was a nice addition to my outdoor sound system. I no longer have to run in to turn off the amp! The block sticks out quite a bit, so finding a good place to attach it was a bit difficult. The setup isn't too bad, but it's quite cramped inside the unit so it can be a bit of a challenge to connect all the speaker cables and then plug them back in. I have used CS3 Rated in in wall speaker cables and they were too bulky for the cabinet so I would recommend less wiring if you can get away with it. Once you've connected the wires, you'll need to put the locking cap back on, which can be tricky on your own. My wiring ended up getting in the way and the bezel isn't fully screwed down in one corner, causing the grip to rub against the bezel. An inconvenience I was able to fix, but what to look out for when installing it yourself. Once installed it works great, controls volume well and stably, no sound distortion or fluff. Highly recommended if your current volume control isn't at the party.
