With some yarns I prefer to use wooden knitting needles rather than metal knitting needles, so in the end I decided to buy a fairly complete set of wooden knitting needles. So far I've only had the opportunity to use a few sizes and overall I'm satisfied. Only two things stood between me and full satisfaction: 1. Some needles are deformed and bent. The curves are subtle enough not to interfere with my knitting, but opening up brand new packaging and finding some slightly curved needles was a little frustrating. The sizes are die cut on pins which I MUCH prefer to painted labels as die cut or engraved labels are much less likely to ever bleed. However, some stamps are so light that I could barely make out what number was there. Luckily I was usually able to find a pair by size and read the number on at least one of the pins in the pair. I ended up making a quick pincushion that had enough pockets to separate all the pairs. As long as I stick the pins in place I can deduce their size even if I can't read any of the labels. Will I buy them again? I think so - they are definitely worth what I paid for them.
