I bought this to be able to upgrade my jeep's front differential to work with 5.13 gears. As mentioned, the pin really sits correctly and does not fall off. It was connected to a spider (YPKD30-S-27) and the gears aren't nearly as tight on the pin as the carrier, so I decided to roll the dice and give it a try anyway. I managed to get it working with a deathblow and "gentle persuasion". After half a dozen hits, it started to fade. Once the pin goes through the first hole it moves noticeably easier, although I had to switch to a small sledgehammer and brass punch to finish it off and drive it all the way through the bottom hole. An open-end wrench was used for easy rotation and adjustment. the main pin so that the holes for the smaller locking pin align. The cam and brass plunger are fully seated and the gears turn well. Edges sanded and deburred by hand and thoroughly cleaned with brake cleaner. Overall not bad for the money after a bit of work. Do it on the bench, there's no way in hell you can do any of that in the diff.
