It's made of lightweight plastic but still works great. The main stem is divided into three sections for more length options. The piston makes it easy to start the water flow and the filter mesh in the main pipe. Easy to use, and while no instructions are included, it's easy to assemble and mostly self-explanatory. The vacuum cleaner sucks well after starting and works well. I love that it comes with extra parts needed instead of useless parts. Supplied with end accessories for a more thorough cleaning, a hose holder and a water shut-off device.
