EVERYTHING scratches so badly

When I first tried these sponges I was very happy with them; Look, feel, functionality - everything is great. Trusting the fact that they were safe to use for almost anything I didn't read the reviews before buying as I had them on sale and bought them immediately for the price. I've been using the sponge for about 3 weeks and it's holding up great, very long lasting, but after cleaning something on the device I noticed it was scratching like crazy. Then I went back and looked at the other stuff I cleaned with it and they're all scratched too. If you buy these sponges, don't use the cleaning side for something you don't want to scratch.
